Located off Beach Street Fitzroy Beach is one of New Plymouths great surf and swimming beaches it has numerous surf breaks and a surf life savers watching the swimmers in summer.

It is also part of the Coastal walkway and has toilets and shower facilities available.

Fitzroy Beach is a great place where you can sit and relax and watch the surfers, or the kids playing in the sand.

It joins onto East End Beach (southern end) and further north is the Waiwhakaio River which is only a few minutes walk along the coastal walk way.

If you are looking for close accommodation the Fitzroy Holiday Park situated right next to the beach with all the usual facilities.

Surfing lessons can be arranged with Daisy day.

For the kids theres the playground and picnic areas on the beach reserve.
