Authors personal comments:

The Sugar Loaf Island Marine Reserve is one of Taranaki's most amazing natural resources and it is definately worth a trip out to see the seals and Marine life.

I love this area, through the summer I spend as much time as possible out there because it is so beautiful.

If you are lucky the guides might pull up some crayfish for you from the set pots or even try some fishing from the kayak. Many visitors have been surprised to find themselves been pulled around by some big fishes, it great fun! hopefully the fish will tire out before you do!
